Section 1: Foundational Concepts in Behavior Analysis
1.1 Dimensions of ABA
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is defined by a set of core dimensions that guide its application and ensure its effectiveness. These dimensions, first outlined by Baer, Wolf, and Risley (1968), include applied, behavioral, analytic, technological, conceptually systematic, effective, and generality. Each dimension plays a critical role in shaping interventions that are evidence-based, measurable, and capable of producing meaningful change. Understanding these dimensions provides a foundation for ethical and effective behavior-analytic practice.
